Mellen School420 South Main Street
Project Description Wayne Nasi Construction was awarded the $500,000 Building Works Contract for the addition and remodeling project completed in 1994. This included all concrete work; rough and finish carpentry; installation of doors, frames, and hardware; and installation of most of the building specialties. Duro-Last roof ing systems were also installed on the Mellen school. In 1998, before the Duro-Last roofing system was installed on the 11,000 square foot gym roof, the entire roof had to be removed including the tectum decking. Twenty percent of the 5" x 9" wood perlins were replaced because of cracks and a new acoustic steel deck was installed with 4" of polyisocyanurate insulation. In 1999, 12,000 square feet of the Duro-Last roofing system was installed over the remaining flat roof sections of the school.
